For several years, EDF has had a monopoly on the energy sector in France. However, with the arrival of competition, the structure decided to create several Showroom and coworking spaces, including the Med in Lab in Marseille. This space was inaugurated in 2018, in order to co-create projects around the energy transition with local actors; but it has so far only been used for activities internals of the structure.
Thus, how can we enhance this place while allowing undertakings partners or not of EDF, to be able to be made aware at their level, of the challenges of energy transition in order to set up concrete actions?
As the space already existed and the Showroom was being built by another service provider, the main challenge was to succeed in offering a more pleasant experience. Fun and Different conventional formats. From the valorization of projects in favor of the energy transition, to activities in augmented reality, this part of the ideation was of great help for the rest of the project: The creation of a Escape game.
The field has shown that one of the main difficulties in attracting companies to the Med in Lab is in part due to the lack of communication on the existence of this co-creation space. It was essential to think of an experience that Raise awareness about the energy transition, but who can also Communicate about the place in question as well as on the support offered.
The Hive refers to teamwork, the essence of the proper functioning of an escape game, but also that of the Med in Lab.
The service has been designed to be easily deployed in the various strategic locations identified and offers an experience fun and fast in order to give a foretaste of partners and future partners of the Med in Lab and its support offers.
Through a futuristic scenario on energy, the participants, grouped by teams of 4 to 6 people, are invited to experience a 20-minute adventure. This experience will allow them to explore a taste of the complexity that a company must face when acting in the context of the energy transition. This fun preamble will encourage them to ask themselves the essential questions and to collaborate with EDF on issues related to their sector of activity over time. This scenario was co-built in partnership with Dourian Tourin-Lebret, founder of the escape game Gaïactica. Thus 4 main stages have been articulated:
1. Home/Expectation : participants can learn about the Med in Lab and the EDF ecosystem
2. The escape game : a story and enigmas that address the main challenges of the energy transition that businesses can face.
3. The memory : a group photo is taken in order to keep a memory of this experience
4. Making contact : a staff member shares the necessary information for people who want to know more about Med in Lab services.
